JA: <\/strong>Fire safety is a crucial part of building ownership and management, and taking preventative safety measures can save lives and prevent substantial damage to your buildings.<\/p>\n As a NYC building owner, you are required to:<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ensure the Fire and Emergency Preparedness Notices are always present in each dwelling unit in your building, and that they are in good condition.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Obtain written confirmation from each tenant or apartment owner that the notice has been posted. To do this, deliver a form to each tenant, to be completed and returned to the building owner or board, that includes a statement from the FDNY regarding the notice, or, inspect each unit once every three years to confirm the presence and condition of the notice.<\/p>\n
